12-year-old Helen Dalzell from Halifax wrote to a TV programme with an idea for making sausages triangular. Helen's idea was written about in a newspaper and Birdseye, who had just completed arrangements to market a triangular sausage product decided here was a young lady who should meet their meat product development manager. Today they met at the Hilton and cooked and tasted the new triangular sausage. Helen is pictured with Howard Abbott, the meat product development manager. 8th May 1967

Darling is a 1965 British drama film written by Frederic Raphael, directed by John Schlesinger, and starring Julie Christie with Dirk Bogarde and Laurence Harvey.
Darling was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. Christie won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Diana Scott. The film also won the Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Costume Design.
