Fisherman from Annan seen here preparing to fish The Solway Firth for salmon

Fisherman from Annan seen here preparing to fish The Solway Firth for salmon, trout and sea trout by a variety of methods- some of which date back to the Burgh Royal Charters of 1538 and 1612.
The fishermen use fixed nets called Poke, Stake or Haaf nets to net their catch. Our picture shows fishermen anchoring a haaf net in the shallows
