Captain D. A. Worgan, Commissioner for National Savings for South Wales

Captain D.A. Worgan, Commissioner for National Savings for South Wales, speaking at Swanseas " Salute The Soldier" proceedings at Swansea.
Also on the platform are the Mayor and Mayoress (Alderman and Mrs. Harries), and Mr. Lewis Jones, MP.
" Salute the Solider Week" was a national fundraising effort to encourage civilians to place their money in national Savings, as Britain prepared for a final assault on Nazi Germany. Across the country celebrations began with a parade and culminated on public space, such as a village green, with a mixture of speeches, blessing ceremonies, sporting events and games.
Circa May 1944
