In the course of a roof-skimming daylight attack by Boston aircraft of RAF Bomber

In the course of a roof-skimming daylight attack by
Boston aircraft of RAF Bomber Command on the power station at Comines (on the France - Belgium border) on August 29th, the first of the raiders to fly over the target secured, a split second afterwards, a photograph of one of the bombs hitting the switch-house.
Photo shows: The bomb penetrated the roof of the switch-house of Comines power station and appears to have burst on a lower floor. Smoke from the explosion is
seen issuing from a lower window.
29th August 1942
