Free French celebrate Bastille Day in London.
A kiss from general Le Gentelholmme after he decorated a pilot with the cross of liberation and the legion of honour.
Paul Louis Legentilhomme was an officer in the French Army during World War I and World War II. After the fall of France in 1940, he joined the forces of the Free French. Legentilhomme was a recipient of the " Order of the Liberation"
The Order of Liberation is a French Order which was awarded to heroes of the Liberation of France during World War II. It is a very high honour, second only after the Lśgion dOHonneur. Very few people, military units and communes were ever awarded it; and only for their deeds during World War II.
The French National Day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fete de la Fśdśration which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France
