Presidential elections in Germany March- April 1925.
They were the first direct elections to the office of President of the Reich (ReichsprŠsident), Germanys head of state during the 1919-1933 Weimar Republic.
The first round was held on 29th March with the second round run off, consisting of three main candidates, being held on 26th April.
Picture shows: Tense scenes as an ugly fight breaks out on the streets of Berlin between supporters of rival candidates ahead of voting in the second round.
Fifty people were injured during a series of such disturbances.
The historic election was won by independent candidate Paul Von Hindenburg.
