Hows the bird line? Birds, believed to be House Sparrows have built their nest
Hows the bird line? Birds, believed to be House Sparrows have built their nest, wrapped about the spindle that drives the hands of the church clock at St John the Baptist Church, Little Missenden, Bucks. The picturesque church part of which is 13th century usually brings throngs of visitors at the weekends and now they have added interest, for the parent birds are obviously feeding their young. Some people are under the impression that the nests moves around with the hands of the clock but the birds are not silly and have tethered the nest to the clock framework and only the spindle moves possibly rocking the nest as it does so.
One thing is quite certain after hours of " bird" and " time" watching the clock is dead on time, we think the birds should be on time for their feeds too. 11th May 1960
