BPM MEDIA; Cannabis plants growing in six Newport City Council flower pots on the B4591 dual carriageway, Newport city centre. COPY; CANNABIS growing in city centre flower pots could have gone unquestioned if that city had been Amsterdam. But today Newport City council, Wales, is investigating after about 20 of the illicit plants were seen growing among flowers in six separate boxes just half a mile from the citys main police station. Shopkeepers Dean Beddis and Steve Reynolds found the distinctive green leaves growing among geraniums and petunias as they walked home after a pint. But the plants, which were all placed in pots with Newport councils logo, have since vanished. Council officials are now said to be checking CCTV footage in a bid to find the cultivation culprits. Mr Beddis, 48, who runs the towns Kriminal Records, said: I had never seen cannabis growing in the wild before, so it was crazy to see it. Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
