This town has celebrated November 11th for 200 years. A local brand of explosive, known as Fenny Poppers, have been set off every November 11th since 1730 by the towns people of Fenny Stratford, a lively village in Buckinghamshire.
Squire Brown Willis of Whaddon Hall started the custom several centuries ago by providing in his will for a perpetual fund to pay for the annual celebrations. In view of a crowd of Fenny Stratford townspeople, the Vicar of St. Martins Rev. C. A. Wheeler, sets off the Poppers. Circa 1950
