Sippers jumped ship and was missing for 24 hours before returning to the vessel.
HMS Soberton is a Ton class coastal minesweeper and was completed on 17th September 1957 for the Royal Navy.
The vessel joined the Fishery Protection Squadron and stayed there throughout her career, until de-commissioning in 1991.
