Picture to accompany the "Robot Revolution"feature which ran in the Daily
Picture to accompany the " Robot Revolution" feature which ran in the Daily Mirror newspaper on the week commencing 27th June 1955.
Picture shows: A Controlman at work in the distillation control room at the Esso refinery in Hampshire, which converts five and a half million gallons of crude oil each day into petrol.
The processing is entirely contolled by the Electronic Robot Units, requiring only four men to be in the control room and, owing to the instrument control, the resultant products are an exact grade.
