An intense assault course has recently been introduced in Cyprus and is run by the Army Physical Training Corps. British, Indian and Cypriot troops are brought together, formed into squads and med into squads and
put through a fortnights intensive course in Commando tactics.
On the last day of the course the men are expected to march 10 miles in two hours in full battle order dress, climb a number of extremely difficult obstacles, cross rivers on ropes, and over-ride many obstacles.
Finally they must fire accurately at various obstacles.
