The Major of Bootle, (Mr Alderman Js Kelly) pulling a cracker with one of the children at dinner given by an anonymous donor and members of the Bootle WVS to people bombed out of their homes. WVS means The Womens Voluntary Services. The dinner held at their headquarters. Liverpool was hit hard in the blitz during world war two, it was reined on by bombs from 28 Aug 1940 Ð 10 Jan 1942.
