In this picture Jeff poses in front of his many gold and silver discs. He holds up the award for his latest album Time, which went Platinum (one million units) in the UK, and Gold (500, 000 units) in the USA.
Jeff Lynne formed the Electric Light Orchestra (known as ELO) in 1970, taking over sole leadership in 1972, after Roy Wood left. He enjoyed hit songs such as Mr Blue Sky, Wild West Hero, Turn to Stone and Don t Bring Me Down. In the 1980s, Jeff Lynne found further success as a producer and helped form the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. They enjoyed hits such as Handle With Care and End of the Line. He was also a member of The Move in the 1960s.
