It is a friendly, Stockport County verses Stoke City. George Best had not played league football for 20 months, but scored from a 25 year free kick to excite the 8, 000 fans who come to see him.

Before the match, Best said " Please don t judge me on this match, I am a long way off fitness". After the match he said " I felt great, and am ready for the big time again"
