Leamingtons new open-air market was launched today

Leamingtons new open-air market was launched today. It brought in scores of complaints from near-by residents. As 50 traders set up stalls on the gloucester Street car park, people living near-by complained of nose-to-tail parking in their streets. The new market is part of the councils drive to revitalise South Leamington. It will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays at least until the end of the Southtown traffic experiment in March. 4th February 1977
