Mr Winston Churchill, British Prime Minister, pays a visit to Dover and Ramsgate on Wednesday 30 August 1940 to inspect air raid damage and meet local A.R.P. workers. There was an almost uncontinuous air raid warning during his visit, but Mr Churchill remained unperturbed. He witnessed an air raid battle in which two machines were shot down into the sea in front of him.
