George Formby 1953-1175-2
From the late 1930s through the early 1940s Formby was Britains most popular movie comic. With his huge grin and ever present Ukelele, he kept audiences chuckling with such low brow slapstick films as " Keep your shirt on" and " Keep Fit" (1937). Formby also worked on the screenplays of some of his earlier films and occasionlly produced films. For the 1940 film " Its in the Air", Formby also wrote song lyrics. Formby spent his childhood in the North of England
