In the words of the popular song of the moment "Up

In the words of the popular song of the moment " Up, Up and Away" went the beautiful balloon from a farm at Turville Heath, Bucks, on Tuesday (8-8-67) when film star Lionel Jeffries made aviation history. They turned the clock back 65 years and took to the air in a giant 137ft. airship that had been assembled in the old hangar used by the R 101 at RAF Cardington, formerly the Royal Airship Works. The event followed six months of negotiations with various Ministries by the producers of the film " Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", starring Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howes. August 1967 P000941
