Kop the cool one snaffles little beathers ice cream at Duchesss party for dogs

Kop the cool one snaffles little beathers ice cream at Duchesss party for dogs: A cool customer, Kop the Pyrenean mountain dog. He aneaked up on two-year old Heather Wooderaft when she was looking the other way, and made short work of her ice-cream. Which, for sheer audacity, takes some licking - considering that Kop ought to have been on his best behaviour as one of the guests at a party for Dogs in the grounds of a stately home. Some 200 oanines turned up for the party on Sunday (12-6-66) on the cricket ground at Arundel Castle, Sussox, as guests of the Duchess of Norfolk. All top dogs, naturally. The invitations reed: " Dogs party. You are requested to bring your master and mistress. Dress: Collar and lead will be worn." The original idea of the organisers, the Clymping animal sanctuary, was to keep the party strictly and eating and drinking affair. But haumans stepped in. The sanctuarys treasurer, Mr. Eric Grellier, said " We heard people were taking the mickey out of us for the idea. as our work - finding homes for strays is very serious we decided to kill the idea of purely a party and put on a display as well." So a display was put on by R.A.F. and sheep dogs. The four-footed guests watched in bored silence. The duchess, who is the sanctuarys president and is raising funds for them, made a speech to the dog Little Heather found it most interesting. But Kop concentrated on the ice cream.
