Admittedly, he drinks it out of a champagne glass, but that is only right and proper, for Russ, if he so desired, could drink champagne morning, noon and night and dine on caviar. Russ, needless to add, is a very wealthy cat indeed. At nine years of age, Russ the Russian Blue is a working cat who has made a solid £ 20, 000 over the last few years. Hes versatile, too. Commercials, films, television series, " guest spots" - Russ is a cat for all seasons. On Thursday (13-3-69) for instance, he was recording (because hes too busy to appear live) an appearance for Eamonn Andrews Today television programme. All of which has brought great joy, not to mention money, to Russs owner, animal trainer Mr. Clive Desmond, who paid £ 15 for Russ as a kitten and now has him insured for £ 20, 000.
