Mrs. Bamford decree for McAvoys wife. Mrs. Eliza Bamford, wife of Mr. Joseph Bamford (Jock McAvoy, the boxer), was granted a decree nisi in the Divorce Court. The allegation of adultery with a women named Joan Lye at two London hotels was not denied. Mrs. Bamford, who was married at Rochdale in 1928 was allowed to write down her address, as, according to her counsel, she feared her husbandss violence if he knew where she was living.
