Lew Hoad, the Australian tennis player pictured just after his successful defence of the Mens Singles title at Wimbledon in 157. Hoad announced he was to turn professional after his victory. His win at Wimbledon meant he was only the third man ever to succesfully defend the title. The two previous greats had been Fred Perry (twice) and Donald Budge.
