The new lifeboat City of Leeds arrives at Redcar, North Yorkshire. The official launch ceremony for the Royal National Lifeboat " City of Leeds" at Redcar was in August 1951. Her Royal Highness Princess Mary attended for the christening ceremony.
The " City of Leeds" lifeboat remained in service until 1965 and saved 31 lives.
