The crew of Blythe Lifeboat are to receive bravery awards following a dramatic rescue off the River Tyne. The lifeboat went out in heaven seas to rescue a fishing boat in difficulties. As the vessel was being towed it started to sink and the lifeboat men pulled the fishermen to safety. The RNLI has just announced that the lifeboat coxswain Charlie Hatcher will get the Institutes Bronze Bravery Medal and that five crew members are to be awarded bronze medal certificates.
