Paisley War Memorial unveiled, Sunday 27th July 1924, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, the statue was designed by sculptor Meredith Williams and features a mediaeval Crusader on horseback surrounded by four battle wearied First World War infantrymen, the monument itself was designed by architect Sir Robert Lorimer and was constructed using 228 tonnes of granite and commemorates the 1985 (reported at time) local men who lost their lives in the Great War
