Probably the only people who benefit from the clothes rationing are the Soldiers

Probably the only people who benefit from the clothes rationing are the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmens Families Association, for at the SSAFA clothing club an average of 100, 000 garments per month are distributed free to deserving cases of servicemens families. The 1942 Club, run by Mrs. Campbell-Blake has a large membership of west end women who pay a subscription of 5/- a quarter, remake all sorts of clothing and then send the profits to the association. Mrs Campbell-Blake smiles over a workers successful effort to make fathers pyjamas into a pair of pants for the boy. 18th April 1944
