RAF Coastal Command beaufighter planes attack two enemy armed trawlers off the coast of the Frisial Islands during the Second world War.
A large strike force of Beaufighters, searching for shipping in the area, intercepted two enemy trawlers. One was sunk and the other was abandoned by its crew and left derelict after attacks with torpedo, rocket projectiles and cannon fire.
Picture shows: Close up of the attack on the second trawler. The boat is burning from stem to stern while in the foreground a group of survivors from the first ship, now sunk, are seen clinging to a raft.
