At the request of the military authorities in Burma sixteen African Chiefs were invited to tour Ceylon, India and the Burma Front to visit men of their tribes serving with the British Forces.
They spent two days in Colombo where they ware formally welcomed by the G.O.C. Ceylon Major General Tuker.
Entertainments Included a garden party given by the Commander In Chief, Ceylon, Lieutenant General N.E. De R. Wetheral, C.B. Division when it was taking part in the Abyssinian campaign.
