Recently some RAF officers visited a Roman Catholic community of Indians
Recently some RAF officers visited a Roman Catholic community of Indians and Anglo-Indians in a Burmese village in a liberated area.
The villagers had lived there under the Japanese occupation for three years and had run their own home guard who maintained regular patrols, some of them armed with rifles captured from the Japanese when they were driven out of these areas.
Picture shows: The Roman Catholic Padre, T Sweeney, of Cork, Ireland, coming up the steps of an air raid shelter in the village compound.
ln the background can be seen Flight Lieutenant C, F Wilson of 72 Drake FieId Road, London, chatting with some of the home guards.
