In their drive forward down the Pi Chaung and Kaladan valleys on the Arakan fronts
In their drive forward down the Pi Chaung
and Kaladan valleys on the Arakan fronts, British and West African troops of the 81st Division have advanced more than 50 miles in 40 days, through some of the toughest jungle in South Burma, to take the little village of Mowdok at the foot of " Frontier Hill".
Behind the little army of occupation came RAF aircraft, directed by radio, dropping supplies of food and equipment
to the advancing troops.
Photo shows: Supplies coming ashore on route for Mowdok, each bale being manhandled through a country even mules would not travel.
