The Italian campaign of World War II consisted of Allied and Axis operations in and around Italy, from 1943 to 1945.
RAF Mosquito intruders, which gained fame for train busting while operating from Malta, are now at work from bases in Italy.
On two consecutive nights these RAF Mosquitos of the Tactical Air Force successfully intruded over a wide area in Northern Italy, attacking communication targets from Milan to Venice and down the West coast to Livorno.
A total of 19 trains were shot up during two nights and other targets included searchlights, railway buildings, tracks, roads, and enemy landing fields.
Squadron Leader A. M. Murphy is seen giving Information to pilots and observers.
