Ths 23, 000 ton British aircraft carrier HMS Victorious while she was co-operating with the United States Navy in the Pacific Ocean. She was lent to the US Pacific Fleet at a tine when it was temporarily short. At one time during this period, British and US Air crews temporarily " exchanged"
carriers, US pilots landed on the Victorious while British pilots used a US aircraft carrier.
Photo shows: Royal Naval Air Squadron photographed on the flight deck of a USS Aircraft Carrier. It was on this ship that the Squadron took up flying duties.
At the same time the American squadron did the same on the Victorious.
Io mark this occasion both Squadrons were photographed on the flight deck of the ships they visited.
