Nearly 300 named of pilots from Great Britain, the Dominions
Nearly 300 named of pilots from Great Britain, the Dominions and Allied Nations appear on the memorial unveiled in the chapel of Biggin Hill, the famous airfield fighter station.
It is dedicated to the pilots of the Biggin Hill Sector who have been killed in action, many of them during the Battle of Britain, and to commemorate the Sectors l000th victory.
Group Captain A.G, Malan, DSC, DFC, Sector Commander of Biggin Hill unveiled the memorial which was dedicated by the Reverend MH Edwards OBE, KHC, Chaplain in Chief of the Royal Air Force.
