With the fall of the Abyssinian fortress of Dessie, located between Addis Ababa and Amba Alagi, Italian resistance in Abyssinia is virtually at an end, and the South African troops keep on their victorious march northward.
The Italian held fort at Dessie was captured by General Alan Cunninghams South African divisions on 20th April 1941.
