A small band of veterans of the old Liverpool Scottish today

A small band of veterans of the old Liverpool Scottish today, at their Fraser Street headquarters, in Liverpool, Merseyside, commemorated the Battle of Hooge, June 1916, where, displaying conspicuous gallantry, the regiment suffered more casualties than in any other single action in the last war. It was a simple, impressive ceremony. Our picture shows wreaths being placed on the memorial by Lieutenant-Colonel Donald Farmer, VC, on behalf of the Liverpool Scottish Regiment Association and by Lieutenant-Colonel I R T Irvine representing the Liverpool Scottish, and the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders Regiment.
