Pop Music Fans Joy Lynch (aged 16) and Julie Franks (aged 15) (left to right NOT confirmed) pictured with their collection of books, posters, calendar and dressed in the uniform of their favourite pop group The Bay City Rollers.
The two teenaged from Maghull, near Sefton, Merseyside have already made a 400 mile round trip to Preston Pans in Scotland, the home of the Bay City Rollers Fan Club where they narrowly missed meeting their idols. However, they hope to see their idols perform in the summer, when the group play some more concerts.
The Bay City Rollers were a famous pop group from Scotland, who enjoyed major success in the 1970s with songs such as Bye Bye Baby, Remember and Shang - a -Lang, and an army of fans who dressed as the band did. The term Rollermania was often used to describe the hysteria that the band attracted.
