The Welsh and English can drink together now on Sunday in the Lion Hotel at the village
The Welsh and English can drink together now on Sunday in the Lion Hotel at the village of Llanymynech, on the borders of Montgomeryshire and Shropshire following the result of the Welsh referendum on Sunday opening for licensed premises.
Previously the hotel was only half open on Sundays because the Wales - England border line ran through the hotel and meant that only the English side could legally sell drinks.
Our Picture Shows: Welshman Derek Southerton touches glasses over the border with Englishman Tony King in the hotel lounge. 10th November 1968
