Mr. W. S. Warne, of Alderney Avenue, Hounslow, Middlesex, believes in comfort
Mr. W. S. Warne, of Alderney Avenue, Hounslow, Middlesex, believes in comfort. He didn t fancy the idea of sleeping in a shelter in his garden during the winter months, so he brought his shelter inside. He bought the ordinary outdoor concrete model. When each section is joined together the total weight of the shelter is 26cwt,
Mr. Warne lugged the concrete parts inside. He lowered t he sections through the floor until they rested on the solid foundations of the house. At the top h e riveted them to the wall." It cost me 8 to buy the concrete sections, an d a little extra for cement to cover the joints. My wife and I sleep in it, but it can hold a third person if necessary, " he told the " Daily Mirror." Well, thats the shelter in the picture here. Mr. Warne his to finish off the joints, and then, if Mrs. Warne covers it with a nice piece of flowered chair covering or something, it will be a handsome piece of shelter work.
