Framed Print of Reed Cutting on the Thames 1st May 1927 Within a stones throw of Chiswick church

Reed Cutting on the Thames 1st May 1927
Within a stones throw of Chiswick church, not far from Hammersmith Bridge is a small island in the River Thames.
Here Mr John Davidson, who is the only remaining basket maker in the City of London, makes an annual visit, to cut and collect osiers which grow on the island.
These osiers are used in his trade, mostly making Billingsgate fish baskets. © Mirrorpix
