Red letter day for the Sea Scouts. Formal presentation of the vessel given to them by The Daily Mirror. A very interesting ceremony takes place at Greenwich, when the ketch yacht, bearing the name of The Daily Mirror is handed over by the editor of The Daily Mirror to Lieutenant Hordern R N, who formally accepts it on behalf of the sea scouts. Afterwards the vessel, which was manned by sea scouts with great skill, cruised down the river as far as Tilbury. The photograph shows the party going on board for the presentation. Londoners were keenly interested in the ceremony, as will be seen from the crowd which had gathered at the riverside. 31st August 1912
