Over 200 schoolchildren from Wood Green School, North London, went on a Hovercraft trip from Dover to make a first hand study of the Goodwin Sands. The children landed on the Goodwins and the sandbanks became their classrooms for about 25 minutes. Pictured, the blackboard is set up on the Goodwin sands, and lessons are in progress with the Physics Master Mr T L Howson with some of his pupils around him. 24th April 1969
