The Spice Girls were an internationally known all girl pop group, whose songs and slogan " Girl Power", were a major feature of the 1990s.
They were made up of
Victoria Adams (top, centre in black), later to become Victoria Beckham, Melanie C (bottom left in tracksuit bottoms), Mel B (front sitting in white trousers), Emma Bunton ( back left in purple) and Geri Halliwell (right with red hair and blue trousers)
They released their first single " Wannabe" on 7th July 1996 and in October they released " Say You ll Be There". Further hits like " 2 Become 1" and " Spice Up Your Life" followed, plus the hit film " Spiceworld" until December 2000 when the group announced they were taking an indefinite hiatus
