One of the top attractions to be seen at Buckingham Palace is the Parks Gardener 64-year-old Charles Lyons who daily sweeps the pavements in front of the Palace. Since he started after the war, he has befriended the local birds. When he puts his brush down they swarm around his feet and he produces a bag of tit-bits. Charlie knows most of the birds by sight and their individual habits. He is due to retire next year but says he will be coming back to feed his friends. 9th June 1976
