British troops of the 51st Highland Division ( Black Watch) entered the town from one side with the American soldiers of the US 84th Infantry Division entering from the other before meeting here at at the corner of Rue de la Gare and Route de Cielle, in the vicinity of the bridge over the River Ourthe.
