The hat has a top knot of daisies from which a " bale" of straw cascades. It was made by Madame Vernier, hatmaker to the Duchess of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
The Reed Sea was part of a fashion show held by the Associate Members of the Incorporated Society of London Fashion Designers 30th January 1961
