World Cup Final match at Wembley Stadium. England 4 v West Germany 2 after extra time. Lothar Emmerich lines up a free kick in the dying moments of the game as English defenders form a wall. From the free kick, the ball hit George Cohen in the wall, the rebound falling to Siegfried Held, who shot across the face of goal and into the back of Karl-Heinz Schnellinger. The ball then deflected across the England six-yard box, wrong-footing the England defence and allowing Wolfgang Weber to slide in and turn the ball past goalkeeper Gordon Banks, levelling the score at 2a" 2 and forcing the match into extra time. 30th July 1966
