Lining up for their big moment are these acts in the third heat of the Examiner Search for a Star competition at Huddersfields Adega nightclub last night.
The winners were pop group China Rose, in second place was female duo Merangue and pop group Ramkee were third.
China Rose go through to the grand final on April 30. The remaining heats will be on April 16 and 23.
Judges last night were Mr Ian Challenger, of Greenall Whitley brewery; Mrs Barbra Farrand, the Adega manageress; Mr Roger Saunders, Examiner advertising manager, and creative designer Mr Brian Long. 9th April 1986
