The regal visit Saltburn always craved finally took place as the town celebrated 150

The regal visit Saltburn always craved finally took place as the town celebrated 150 years of history. More than a century ago, the fashionable seaside resort had hoped for a visit form Queen Victoria but she never came. This week her very embodiment graced celebrations to mark Victorias accession to the throne in 1837. Alice De Mellet De Bonas, 71, was given a royal welcome when she arrived at the towns station to name a British Rail freight locomotive after Henry pease, the industrialist who founded Saltburn. 13th August 1987
