Slaithwaite Brownies celebrated their 60th birthday with a series of events. A special church service was held at St Jamess Church, Slaithwaite, then a party for 70 guests was held in the church lounge. Members of the original pack attended as well as local Guides, Rainbows and Guide leaders. The Brownies gave a concert. They rounded off a busy week with a day at the seaside when the 28 pack members visited Southport.
